FOR
TEENS - BEAUTY TIPS |

SUMMER
SPECIAL
|
Summer
is a time to relax and rejuvenate. At the same
time, summer sun can be very harsh on your soft
skin and deep fry your natural looks. The only
way to escape the blistering
sun is to soak yourself in water. Splash
water on you as frequently as possible. While
enjoying the hot, lazy summer, keep in mind
that different beauty rules apply. Here are
a few tips to keep you looking as good as you
feel : |
GO
MOIST |
Moisturisation
is the most important part of daily skin care.
Although you must buy a water-based moisturizer,
you need to work out your skin's needs. May
be just plain water works for you. Herbal beauticians
say that flower-based lotions like rose water
or cucumber water {made by diluting cucumber
juice with water} can be sprayed on the face
to tone and refresh it. You need to cool these
tonics in the fridge before use. Besides this,
makes a habit of splashing your face gently
with water for instant freshness. You can splash
as many as 20 times. But do not use very hot
or very cold water on your skin. Steam face
regularly to release dirt {5 minutes for dry
skin and 10 minutes if it is oily}. Pat dry
with tissue and moisturize. Moisturizers should
be used damp on the skin. This seals in the
water and helps skin to hold the moisture better.
Make sure that you are adequately hydrated -
at least 8 glasses of water a day even more
when you are outside. |
FEET
FETISH |
Your
feet also need adequate care this season. Keeping
both hands and feet clean with a liberal use
of soap and water (followed by a moisturizer)
is a grooming must. Soaking feet and hands helps
to get rid of fatigue, more so if you add a
pinch of salt to the water you use. This softens
the dry, dead skin around your soles, easing
its removal. Soak feet for 15-20 minutes once
a week. |

HAIR
CARE |
Summer
sun and humidity can damage your hair's cuticle
and result in dry, drab, split, brittle or frizzy
hair and ends. Sunlight can be just as damaging
as a hot blow dryer. Naturally curly hair is
often a major victim to summer frizzies. Consider
washing your hair less often during the summer
months to allow your hair to absorbe more moisture.
When possible, finish with a cool to cold rinse
to seal the hair cuticle and impart natural
shine. |
TIPS |
- Drink
at least 15 glasses of water a day.
- Mix
the fruit juice of your choice with mineral
water for a healthy soda.
- Use
water as mouth freshner along with a sprig
of mint, honey and lime.

a compress for dry, flaky, irritating using
water. Use gauze dipped in tolerably cold
water. Apply on affected are and leave on
for 10 minutes.
- Walk
bare foot on grass immere your legs in cold
water up to the knees. This increases resistance
to illness. With water, remember, more is
always better.
- Accentuate
your glowing skin by brushing on a light
shimmering powder instead of a heavy foundation.
You don't want to appear like you are melting
under the hot sun.

a light shimmering eye shadow in beige just
under your brow bone to draw attention to
your eyes.

you use mascara, try a waterproof. This
way you will avoid those scary looks when
